time management, reiki, crafts and coffee ;)

Hola. Apparently I've been slacking on the blog updates. Ha! Time management, something I'm always working on improving. My mother in law sent me a book last year about organizing/time management for your brain type. I found out I had the flaky sort of type where my thoughts/ideas/etc are all over the place and we are super creative which is good but have trouble executing our plans effectively. Couldn't be truer. And, true to my brain type- I put the book down before I even finished reading the solutions. Haha. Should really find it and finish! Anyway- I'm sure other crafters that may be reading this understand how hard it is to balance creativity with the business aspect of selling our work. The social networking, the photo taking (I love that part actually), the uploading of the photos (not so in love with that part), description writing, social networking blah blah you get the point. But its all ok because I'm going to pull it together. Along with all of the other aspects of my life I'm trying to squeeze in. Ok wow I'm going to stop talking about this now because I just got overwhelmed. Haha. Most importantly and something that will tie in everything I need to spend more time Reiki-ing myself daily. If you don't know what Reiki is- you can check out my Reiki Master Patti Penn's website here: http://www.pause.me.uk/ for a detailed description. The word Reiki itself means "life force energy". Its a form of energy healing and spirituality. I love it. I was attuned to Reiki by Patti a year ago and eventually I want to keep progressing with Reiki combined with other forms of natural and holistic healing and work in that field professionally. Anyway- I didn't set out to talk about all of that but I'm glad I did. I worked on some new pendants last weekend that you can view in my Etsy shop, well the ones I've posted so far that is. And I also recently started making felt/fabric hair clips. They are SO much fun. I've made some for adults but I've been mostly making them for babies/toddlers/little girls. I nanny an adorable 5 month old girl (and her 3 year old brother) and as far as I can tell, she likes being my muse. I also got my first order for a set of them from her mom, for a gift for her cousin's daughter. Woohoo! (Thanks Jessica!) I'm trying to decide if I will open a separate Etsy shop to sell only hair clips. I think it may be a good idea. Any suggestions. I don't have them listed in my RYM shop yet. Trying to work on getting several made first while also handmaking packaging for them so they look nice when I photograph them. In other news- I found an awesome coffee shop, Kaldi Coffee and Tea in Atwater Village, which is just a neighborhood over from me here in Silverlake. It's just what I have been looking for. Great quality. I went there last night for the first time and again tonight. The guy that was working there both tonight and last night is super friendly and said when I get some more jewelry and stuff made I should bring them in and they may sell them there. AWESOME. Ok. I'm getting ancy and what to get back to creating now. Oh and the photo at the top of this post is a preview of some of the clips I worked on last night. I made 8 but these are just a few of them. Feed back welcome ;)
